What is Softalk Organizer?
Softalk Organizer is a web based collaboration client, which lets the people in your organization manage and share calendars, contacts and email.
Because the Softalk Organizer runs within your web browser, it means you can access it from anywhere in the world.
Furthermore, no additional software or hardware is required for you to purchase, install or maintain.
As a result, the Softalk Organizer can be rolled out to all the users in your organization within a matter of minutes.
Softalk Organizer integrates tightly with Softalk Share Server, WorkgroupShare and Softalk Mail Server.
This means that you can use Softalk Organizer to remotely access your Outlook calendar, contacts and email.
Alternatively, it can be used as a standalone calendar, contact and email client.
Any users that you have access to are listed under this shared information folder and any of these users' folders that you have been granted access to appear under the relevant user.
Using Softalk Organizer as a standalone product
When you install Softalk organizer without Softalk Share Server, WorkgroupShare or Softalk Mail Server, all the Organizer users can manage and share their calendars, contacts and email through Internet Explorer.
In order to be able to send mail using Softalk Organizer, you simply need a mail server running on the computer that hosts Softalk Organizer.
Each user can configure Softalk Organizer to map their Inbox to a POP3 account.
Softalk Organizer will then show the messages inside the POP3 account (it doesn't download the messages).
Using Softalk Organizer in conjunction with Softalk Share Server or WorkgroupShare
When you use Softalk Organizer in conjunction with either Softalk Share Server or WorkgroupShare, each user's Outlook data will be accessible from within Softalk Organizer.
This makes it immediately possible to remotely access essential Outlook information from anywhere in the world.
If you wish to send email, you will need a mail server running on the computer that hosts Softalk Organizer.
Your inbox will show exactly what is in your Outlook inbox and any messages that you send will be available from the Sent Items folder of Softalk Organizer and in the Sent Items folder within Outlook.
Using Softalk Organizer in conjunction with Softalk Mail Server
When you use Softalk Organizer in conjunction with Softalk Mail Server, messages received by Softalk Mail Server are downloaded by Softalk Organizer into your Inbox.
Provided Softalk Mail Server is running on the same computer, you will automatically be able to send email from within Softalk Organizer.
