Email client features
OfficeTalk's Mail mode provides a very easy-to-use mail client with all the features that you would expect from a standalone
mail package plus public and private email, multiple mail personalities, email templates and full contact management integration.
OfficeTalk makes it possible for staff to easily proxy their colleagues' inboxes, or even for a group of colleagues to all share the same inbox, such that everyone can see everyone else's responses.
On the server side, OfficeTalk is supplied with the powerful WorkgroupMail mail server software, which provides content control, full message archiving
and optional anti-spam and anti-virus subscriptions.

Comprehensive functionality that meets users' requirements:
You will find that your whole team use OfficeTalk's email
intuitively right from day one. They will also find that OfficeTalk provides the functionality to meet their more
sophisticated requirements.
Formatting control is provided with HTML support, Templates and Stationery to ensure that corporate standards
are adhered to.
In addition to personal mail signatures, corporate mail signatures can be enforced globally
at a security profile level.
Mailing Lists are flexible and can be created using any number of users, contacts, one-off
Internet recipients, bulletin boards, contact groups or other mailing lists.
Security is covered with capabilities for both digital signatures and encryption.
Mail organization is covered with multi-level folders, plus comprehensive search facilities
and the facility to create links to other OfficeTalk data.
Mail rules can be used for auto responders, copying, forwarding, filing and more.
Messages can be flagged and marked for follow-up.
Public Folders or Bulletin Boards can be used to create discussion groups with threading and to
publish information. Access rights control ensures that these can be used confidentially at a management level.

Close integration with contact management, calendaring and task management
OfficeTalk's mail is tightly integrated with its calendaring for meeting organization and task and
project management for task assignments. As importantly, OfficeTalk's mail is closely integrated into
its contact management, a contributory factor to its excellent relationship management capabilities.
All sent and received Internet mail is automatically available in the company's and/or contact's history.
And control over access rights means that it can be available to all or kept private, as appropriate.
If a contact is not yet in the database, OfficeTalk can create the entry.
Internet mail that is easy to implement and a part of the security of your system
OfficeTalk's Internet mail service provides a gateway through which everyone's Internet mail is sent and received.
The gateway can be on any single PC on the network, including a Windows Server. The gateway connects to any
SMTP/POP3 mail server (SMTP only is supported through WorkgroupMail). Typically this will be the mail server at your Internet
Service Provider for straight forward scenarios, or it can interface with other mail servers, such as WorkgroupMail to provide more advanced mail services. WorkgroupMail is supplied with OfficeTalk.
 WorkgroupMail administrator
The Internet mail service can be run on in a user's Officetalk session, but this is not practical for anything
but the lightest usage. An OfficeTalk session running the Internet mail service counts as a user licence.
This should be born in mind when assessing licence requirements.
Less Risk of Virus Issues
OfficeTalk provides an inherent reduction in the risk from viruses. This is because a large proportion
of the viruses created in recent times specifically target Microsoft Outlook, with a view to harnessing
specific features within Outlook to cause havoc. OfficeTalk has a completely different architecture
to Microsoft Outlook and so is not susceptible to viruses that are specifically targeted at Outlook.
OfficeTalk's Notifications provide an "instant" messaging solution
OfficeTalk's Notifications provide an "instant" messaging alternative to email for more transient or urgent information.
The notifications are available in various templates, such as "While you were out" notifications, or straight forward plain message notifications.
Just search for the contact in a While You Were Out notification and OfficeTalk will fill in the details. Fill in the tick boxes for call back etc. and the job is done - you only add a specific message if it's really needed.
Fast and simple to use, with the functionality to be really usable
Notifications flash in the task bar. They can also sound an alarm. So you get to choose how you get notified.
Then Notifications can be minimized or snoozed so that they pop up later. If you would like a permanent copy,
simply hit the button and mail it to yourself. When you send a Notification, it is easy to check if the recipient
is logged on or not - so if it is urgent, you can take the appropriate action. And if you would like to give
someone a timely reminder whilst you are away, you can set the arrival date and time.
