How it works
MailFender intercepts messages as they are being received by Exchange Server and, depending upon the defined policy, can perform actions based on the message content such as deleting or quarantining the message or modifying it in a defined way prior to subsequent delivery to Exchange Server.

MailFender for Content provides rule-based content management for Exchange Server. This product lets you add disclaimers, strip or extract attachments, quarantine messages, add MIME headers, run script, reject messages and many other useful tasks. It provides a set of pre-defined message templates, allowing you to quickly add email disclaimers and group signatures to any of your messages.
MailFender for Viruses
Annual losses caused by viruses have grown from $10bn in 2001 to over $50bn in 2004. Ensuring that your email is properly protected has never been more important. MailFender for Viruses includes all the functionality in MailFender for Content and can also detect and delete or quarantine virus infected messages, keeping your organization free from email bourne viruses.
MailFender for Spam
Independent analysts have estimated that spam currently represents more than 65% of all email traffic and the figure is growing. The figure put on the worldwide cost of spam reached over $20bn in 2003. Businesses are increasingly aware that protecting themselves from spam is of paramount importance. MailFender for Spam includes all the functionality in MailFender for Content and can also detect and quarantine spam messages, saving your organization the expense of its staff dealing with spam messages. Spam detection is provided by the SpamCleanser engine, which can distinguish up to 95% of spam mail from legitimate mail.
MailFender Enterprise
MailFender Enterprise includes all the functionality in MailFender for Content, MailFender for Spam and MailFender for Viruses, providing your Exchange Server with total protection from spam and virus infected messages.
Integration with the Active Directory
MailFender is tightly integrated with the Active Directory, letting you specify rules that can apply to a particular user or group of users. For example, you could add a rule which appends a terms and conditions disclaimer to any message sent from the sales department. Furthermore, you could add a signature to the end of any message sent by any member of staff. Such a signature could include replacement fields for name, address, telephone number, email address, all extracted directly from the Active Directory by MailFender for that user.
