Purging Backups

Backups can take a lot of disk space and so you may wish to purge older backups on a regular basis. By default backups older than 1 month are automatically purged. This means that you will not be able to restore from data that was backed up more than one month ago. You can increase or reduce this period, or you can disable purging of backups altogether. To configure the purging of backups, select View | Backup Settings… from the Administrator menu and select the Purging page.

To disable the purging of backups, untick the Purge backups radio button. To control when backups are purged, choose a duration using the Purge backups older than controls.

The server will automatically purge backups on a regular basis, but you can manually purge backups by selecting File | Backup/Restore | Purge Backups from the Administrator menu.
