Note: If you run an Active Directory, you do not need to install the client software manually. You can instead use the Remote Client Setup utility to remotely install the client software.
Firstly, locate the ClientSetup folder. This is created during the installation of the server program. By default, its location will be c:\softalk\softalk share server\clientsetup. On the client computer, which has Outlook installed, run the clientsetup.exe program from within this folder.

At the Welcome page, press Next. Press Accept to accept the end user licence agreement and press Next.

In the SelectFolder page, choose a folder to which the client software will be installed or accept the default. Press Next to continue.

In the next page, select from the drop down list the user whose uses the computer onto which you are installing the client software. Also enter the password that you specified when you created the user in the administrator program, if any.
If you configured the user that you are installing for to authenticate using Active Directory then click the Use Active Directory authentication radio button. In this case there is no need to select a user from the drop down list since Softalk Share Server will determine the user, based on the credentials used to login to Windows. Press Next to continue

In the following page, choose whether to configure the Softalk Share Server store as a default or secondary store or whether to configure it for public folders only. Most organizations should choose either Default store or Public folders only.
If you select “Default store”, Softalk Share Server will be configured as a primary store, replacing your existing PST or Exchange store (and optionally migrating the data).
If you select “Secondary store”, Softalk Share Server will not replace your primary PST or Exchange store but will be configured as a non-primary store alongside your default store. Default mail folders will be created in the store, but if you wish to have other types of personal folders, you must create them manually.
If you select “Public folders only”, Softalk Share Server will be configured as a secondary store that is capable of containing only public folders that are created in the administrator program. Your PST or Exchange store will remain the default store and Softalk Share Server will appear underneath the default store, showing only those public folders that the user has access to.
For more information about which configuration to choose see Store Configurations”.

If you selected to configure Softalk Share Server as your default store, then in the next page (provided you have not already done so in a previous install) you will have the option to transfer the data from your previous default store to the Softalk Share Server store.

To complete the client installation, press Finish in the Summary page.
