Finishing the Restore Wizard

The Backup page of the Restore wizard lets you choose which backup to restore the data from. Typically you would restore from the last backup, if you know that to contain good data, otherwise you will need to restore from earlier backups.

If you select an incremental backup, the restoration process will begin from the previous full backup, restoring data from each subsequent incremental backup all the way up to the incremental backup that you have selected.

Once you have selected the appropriate backup, press Next. The next page lets you specify what to do with data that has been modified since the backup you are restoring from.

In most cases, you will want to keep data that has been modified since the last backup, but if you suspect that the modification of the data itself is the cause of a corruption then you may want to select the Overwrite with older version of the data radio button. If you select this option, data created since the backup will not be destroyed or overwritten, however data modified since the last backup will be overwritten with the data stored in the backup.

The final page of the Restore wizard summarizes the data that is about to be restored.

To begin the restore, press Finish.
